Are All Natural Health Supplements Worth Taking?
Despite a health budget in the trillions of dollars, we seem all seem to be getting sicker and sicker. We’re fatter, less fit, and get cancer way more often than we used to a hundred years ago. It seems mainstream medicine is failing us. Should we be taking all natural health supplements instead?

Now I’m not saying mainstream medicine is failing us totally, they have made some huge breakthroughs in recent years. Look at how the cure rate for cancer has gone up. But we still seem to be getting cancer at a higher rate than ever before.
So maybe cure rates are better but overall it’s still not good. Mainstream medicine looks at cure and alternative approaches to medicine like taking all natural health supplements focus on prevention.
Of course there is plenty more that we can be doing to help prevent poor health. A good diet, rich in fresh fruit and vegetables and low in fats, particularly saturated fats, and low in salt and sugar is essential, as is regular exercise, but there is growing evidence that good dietary supplementation is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle.
There is plenty of evidence that part of the problem is a lack of essential nutrients from our food. Modern farming practices like intensive monoculture farming are robbing the soil of minerals and vitamins and more, and of course if these nutrients aren’t in the soil they can’t get into the fruit and vegetables growing in it.
Ditto the obscene use of chemical fertilizers, and the jury is out on GM food, though I for one don’t want to eat any of it.
And there is a massive range of important natural nutrients that we should be adding to our daily diet but it’s not practical to do so.
